Travertine is a limestone with natural pores. In filled travertine the pores are sealed and the surface is smooth. In unfilled travertine the structure stays visible, but dirt collects in it more easily.
Every slab comes from a different part of the block. Colour and veining will therefore differ from the photo, and that is exactly what makes your table one of a kind. Natural stone is heavy: a 200 × 100 cm slab easily weighs over 100 kg.
Common questions
Is travertine delicate?
Acid attacks limestone. Wipe up wine, lemon and vinegar quickly. A sealant slows absorption, but does not stop it completely. With coasters, the slab stays beautiful for a long time.
How do I care for a stone table?
Wipe it with a damp cloth and a pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid vinegar-based cleaners and abrasives. Depending on use, refresh the sealant every one to two years.
How is such a heavy table delivered?
The top and the base arrive separately and well packed. The product page shows whether the carrier delivers into the room. Plan for at least two strong helpers to assemble it.
